VSTRS 65

 

VSTRS 65 is a Medicare Supplement Plan offered by VEHI and Blue Cross of Vermont, to VSTRS retirees who have purchased an Individual Medicare Part D Plan for their prescription drug coverage. Medicare does not allow VSTRS retirees to purchase a Group Medicare Advantage plan like the "HealthSpring Advantage 65 Plan" and an Individual Part D Plan.  Therefore, VSTRS and VEHI agreed to continue to offer the VSTRS 65 (non-Medicare Advantage Plan) through VEHI which allowed retirees to purchase an individual Part D plan of their choosing.

Retirees who choose VSTRS 65 will continue to have access to the PATH Health and Wellness Program after 2026.
