Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont, in conjunction with VEHI, will meet the 2017 year individual mandate reporting requirement for ALL VEHI school district members through the filing of IRS Form 1095B.
School districts with more than 50 full-time employees are required to complete IRS Form 1095C sections 1 and 2 to meet their 2017 reporting obligations as large employers. This information must be submitted to the IRS and provided to employees in early 2018. This requirement is in addition to the above component that BCBSVT will complete.
At the time the 2017 ACA IRS Reporting webinars were recorded (links to recordings below) employers were required to furnish employees a copy of Form 1095-C no later than January 31, 2018 unless the employer requested an extension. In late December, the IRS released a Notice announcing an automatic extension of the due date to March 2, 2018. While the recorded webinar still shows the January due date all other materials affected are updated to include information from the IRS guidance.
